Why the name 'Critical Globalization Atlas'?

Well, in first place because we needed a name for our project. The three words 'critical', 'globalization' and 'atlas' were chosen because they reflect to a good extend the idea and the content of the platform. We could as well have named the project 'The Alternative Globalization Atlas Project' or 'Global Consumption Awareness'. The list of possible names was rather large. We think that the chosen name has a broad connotation and does not pin us to just a set of narrow ideas. Anyway, our intention is to (re-)name the platform once it is ready to go online. We are thinking about a somewhat more 'abstract' word, such as it is the case for other platforms such as 'google' or 'yahoo'. The name will not only be easier to memorize, but hopefully also become a synonym for a concept, a way of thinking.
